Welcome to our low carbon impact website

At Expert By Experience, we strongly believe in community-based change.

As such, we believe everyone in our South Asian communities has a role to play in driving forward the dialogue around mental health from an intersectional and critical lens.

As we continue to grow we are looking to work with volunteers so that we can continue with this mission. We are also looking for people to support us financially to cover the essentials of maintaining EBE.

We believe everyone has a role to play in this change - irrespective of their background.

There are a variety of ways in which you can help by becoming a part of the EBE team.

Our goal for the coming few years is to continue building our audience while publishing intersectional and critical content that is produced in the most accessible language possible.

As such we have the following key goals:

help us grow our social media presence

We're not concerned about 'likes' on social media. Instead, we care deeply about engaging people on social media who will find our content meaningful.

What does this mean in a practical sense: This means getting actively involved with the South Asian and wider mental health space on social media.

Duties would include creating and managing our social media content, engaging with important hashtags/topics to finding relevant organisations/users for us to collaborate with.

Building our network:

There are so many wonderful organisations out there globally who are doing incredible work for social justice, let alone mental health. Our dream is to work with as many organisations as possible, whether it's online or offline.

What does this mean in a practical sense: This means actively searching out collaboration opportunities with such organisations so that we can continue to driven dialogue around mental health.

Duties would include creating relationships with potential organisations and initiatives for collaborating opportunities.

Creating consistent content:

It goes without saying that is the most important goal for us going forward.

What does this mean in a practical sense: This means creating content for EBE, whether it's written, recorded (podcast), video to art. We're incredibly open in this area. In an ideal world, we would create sections/series on EBE which would be led by you. In effect, you would have a residency on the website to generate your own content under the umbrella of EBE.

Duties would include creating regular content centred around mental health.

Why have we made our website low impact?

The internet is quite damaging to the environment. Every time someone makes a visit to a website it generates a data transfer which requires electricity. Electricity ultimately creates carbon emissions - all of which negatively impacts the climate.

Our new low impact website aims to reduce the data transfers by up to 72% in comparison to our old website.

We will continue to improve our website so that it is as low emission as possible.
